If you’re just joining, you might want to check out weeks 1-3 where we focused on exercisehydration, and what toxins you don’t want going into your body. Today, we embark on week #4 of our challenge, where we focus on all the detoxifying, cleansing foods that we should be putting in!

Now that your body is enjoying the benefits of daily or weekly exercise and regular hydration, your entire being is ready to be fuelled with energy that doesn’t just get you through the day, but creates a happier, more energetic version of yourself!

Before we jump into our invigorating juice cleanse, we need to help our body adjust to eating habits that will be both sustainable and delicious. Which is why this week, we are focusing on increasing our consumption of naturally detoxifying foods.

FOCUS ON SULFUR RICH, DETOXIFYING FOODS

The most natural, detoxifying foods are (no surprise here) organic fruits and vegetables. What you might not have known is that while the liver helps detoxify our bodies, foods high in sulfur actually help detoxify our liver! This makes incorporate sulfur-rich fruits and vegetables into your detox, a great idea. Foods that contain significant amounts of sulfur include fibrous, non-leafy vegetables like broccoli, cauliflower, onions, and garlic, and kale.
